A quote that convinces
A good quote answers three questions: what exactly does the customer get, what does it cost and how long is it valid. Describe services specifically (“painting walls, 2 coats, 80 m²” rather than “painting work”) and separate material and labour if it helps the customer.
- State the validity so it is clear how long you are bound to the price
- Show VAT if you are registered
- Refer briefly to the enquiry in the introduction, it feels personal
- Follow up politely after a few days without a reply

From quote to paid invoice
The customer accepts? Create the invoice with the QR invoice generator. With Velro there is no retyping: Velro writes the quote from the customer’s email, recognises the acceptance and turns it into the QR invoice.
Frequently asked questions
Is a quote binding in Switzerland?
In principle yes. Anyone who makes an offer with a deadline is bound by it until it expires (Art. 3 CO). So always state a validity, for example 30 days.
What should a quote include?
Sender and recipient, number and date, a clear description of the services with quantity and price, VAT, total and validity. Payment terms and what is not included are helpful too.
Can I turn the quote into an invoice?
With the template you enter the line items again in the QR invoice generator. In Velro an accepted quote becomes a QR invoice with one click, also split into deposit and final invoice.
Does the quote template cost anything?
No, the template is free and unlimited, with no sign-up. The PDF carries a small note “Created with Velro”. For regular quotes there is Velro with a subscription, with your services and AI that prepares quotes from customer enquiries.
Rather automatic than by hand?
Velro writes replies, quotes and Swiss QR invoices straight from your emails, sends them and follows up on open payments. Try it free for 14 days.
